The twin artists Irina and Marina Fabrizius are an exception on the international art market. This is of course because they are as alike as two peas in a pod, the artists themselves are a visual feast for the eyes, they always appear together and they paint every picture together.
In addition, the twins paint absolutely exceptional works of impressive quality – light pictures in the tradition of James Turrell, color spaces abstracted from nature. Irina and Marina Fabrizius paint in elaborate oil glaze painting, where the oil paint is diluted and then applied layer by layer. Although oil paint does not dry very quickly, there is little time to ensure that no edges or lines remain. But there are two of the twins, and so they create works that hardly anyone can imitate from a purely technical point of view.
A picture consists of up to 20 layers of glaze, the next layer can only be applied after the previous one has dried. A picture can therefore take up to 8 months to complete. But the extremely complex process pays off: the works of the Fabrizius twins are of absolutely exquisite quality!
