Karen Jule Klöpfer

*2000 in Gross-Umstadt, Germany

In her art, Karen Jule Klöpfer deals with the transition between printmaking and painting and specifically experiments with media breaks. The work “Kejetia” shows the famous Kejetia market in Kumasi in Ghana, where the artist spent a semester abroad. Hidden beneath the colorful umbrellas is the largest market in West Africa with over 10,000 stalls. The partially overpainted transfer print, based on a photo collage, evokes associations with a billboard that is peeling off in many places.
