As the first gallery in Germany we show the spectacular works of Gonçalo Mabunda from Mozambique together with new works by the American Marcus Jansen and the German sculptor Stephan Marienfeld.
With the show „Deep Insights“ we present three exciting top artists from three continents.
Gonçalo Mabunda is belonging to the top ten contemporary artists from Africa, his artworks have been exposed in leading museums of the world like the Tate Gallery in London, the Guggenheim Bilbao or the museum Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf. Grown up in the cruel civil war of Mozambique, Gonzalo Mabunda is transforming wrecked weapons to fascinating sculptures of striking power and even humour. His stunning thrones and masks are typical traditional African cult objects – and at the same time highly important representatives of contemporary art.
Marcus Jansen is an american artist who send us breathtaking artworks from his elsewhere sold out series „Plot“, „Behind the Wall“ and „Asylum“. Jansen is mirroring the conflicts of our time and gives us deep insights to the human existence – at the same time troubling, fascinating and adorable. Just in time for the Easter holidays the german sculptor Stephan Marienfeld completed the exhibition with his new sculptures „She“ and „He“ from his fabulous „Blow-Up“-series! The sculptures are forming an abstract female and male figure pair, perfectly balanced. The elegant shapes of the polished bronzes are reflecting the light and the surrounding in a beautiful way.
