ORANGE THE WORLD at the Kellermann Gallery
Orange is a color of red and yellow that stands for exuberance and curiosity, for light and warmth and for the lightness of being.
Unfortunately, however, many women and girls are deprived of this lightness: According to UN studies, one in three women worldwide has to experience gender-based violence. This is why the United Nations has designated November 25 as the “International Day against Violence against Women and Girls”, known as “ORANGEDAY”. The initiative continues: every year until December 10, the “International Human Rights Day”, the “Orange Days” take place, on which signs are set worldwide against violence against women and girls.
We at Galerie Kellermann also want to send a visible signal against violence against women and girls: With this year’s #ORANGETHEWORLD exhibition, we are now participating in this global UN campaign for the third year in a row and are forwarding 25% of all sales from this exhibition directly to selected women’s shelters.
Once again, we were able to win over NRW Interior Minister Herbert Reul for our joint commitment. In an introductory discussion round with Mr. Reul and other discussion partners, moderator Hella Sinnhuber will give an insight into how important it is to focus attention on this topic.
We are delighted that all artists from Galerie Kellermann are taking part in this year’s charity exhibition. An exciting exhibition with high-ranking works awaits you! By purchasing a work of art from this selection, you too can set an example against violence against women and girls.
We look forward to your visit!
