Günther Uecker dismantled the former meeting table of the Stoob printing works in St. Gallen and made three woodcuts from it. Each woodcut has its own structure and is different in motif format, just as the people around a table are different. But only together do they form the “common table”. A wonderful symbol of togetherness despite all differences.
The plate was individually pressed into the paper using the full weight of the body. This created a “foot print”; the printer stood on the wooden plate and massaged the pressure into the paper so that the grain was embossed in 3D. Only 25 copies were made.
