Sometimes, there are truly special families of artists for whom art, across genders and generations, is in their blood in the truest sense of the word. The Seliger-Gerullis family is such a rare constellation, where diverse artistic personalities converge.
Reiner Seliger has been known in the art world for decades for his unique three-dimensional layering, in which he creates breathtakingly beautiful new structures from broken materials—whether as wall reliefs or freestanding sculptures.
His wife, Heidi Gerullis, on the other hand, is at home in the world of painting and installations. In the series of works now being presented, she models luminous pigments with innovative scratching and scraping techniques, literally bringing the colors into the third dimension.
Violetta-Elisa Seliger is their daughter, and with her virtuoso paper cuttings and goldsmithing, she manages to create a completely distinct style that contrasts with her parents’ work.
Together, they form not only a wonderful family, but also an exceptional artistic trilogy that has already been featured in various museum exhibitions.
We cordially invite you to get to know the Seliger-Gerullis-Seliger family personally as part of our “Meet the Artist” series.
