Lily Arnold

*1999 in Karlsruhe, Germany

In her extraordinary mixed works consisting of oil painting, classical embroidery and collaged elements, the artist was inspired by the imagery of medieval millefleurs tapestries from the Musée national du Moyen Âge in Paris. These show works overloaded with flowers and decorations that depict everyday scenes of the rich and noble: walks, baths, music and poetry.

Lily Arnold replaces the upper class of society with the attitude to life of the young generation. Young adults who, especially after the restrictions of the previous pandemic years, want to go out and enjoy life in all its full splendor. The “Perfect Places” series of works is based on the artist’s personal memories of the perfect places of a summer.
