Salvador Dali

With the skipping rope, Alice opens the door to imagination. Her head resembles a rose bush – because like Daphnis, Alice is also capable of complete metamorphosis. The crutch stands alone in the room – Alice needs no aid, she travels to Wonderland and back alone with her imagination.

Original bronze edition, first cast in 1977 and personally authorized by Dali. Listed in the catalog raisonné of the sculptures, Descharnes: The Hard and the Soft, Sculptures & Objects, pg. 243 ref. 624
