In his paintings, Shalva Gelitashvili processes both personal childhood memories from Georgia and the absurdities of everyday life in society. Human protagonists, animal creatures, highly symbolic props, expressive facial expressions and bright colors combine to create surreal scenes, depictions of the outlandish and the grotesque.
