Shalva Gelitashvili

*1991 in Tiflis, Georgia

In his paintings, Shalva Gelitashvili processes both personal childhood memories from his homeland of Georgia and the absurdities of everyday social life. Human protagonists, animal creatures, symbolic props, expressive facial expressions and bright colors combine to create surreal scenes, depictions of the bizarre and the grotesque.

Biography

Shalva Gelitashvili studied at the State Academy of Arts in Tbilisi, Georgia from 2009 to 2013. He later began his studies at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and successfully completed his studies in 2023.
