The “honey pump at the workplace” was Beuys’ big project for the documenta Kassel in 1977. Honey was pumped through hoses and pipes through various rooms in the documenta using a large pumping machine. For Beuys, honey is a symbol of creative energy. The “honey pump” is therefore the center of human creativity, the brain. After all, the workplace is the human body. The “honey pump at work” is therefore a symbol of human creativity. Networked through the rooms, an overall social connection is created.
