Jascha Wolfram

Edition:

Jascha Wolfram sees his works as metaphors that express the essence of something in an altered form. The comic language makes it possible to create easily readable metaphors that are almost universally understandable. Transferred to the large canvas format, what was previously perceived as a trivial motif becomes impressive gallery art.

A particularly fine example of this is Jascha Wolfram’s work ‘Kälteeinbruch’. Kaflaaatsch! Brombel! Triggered by global warming, an avalanche of snow and ice crashes down into the valley, burying a lorry with a parade underneath it. The fish in the aquarium can hardly enjoy their new-found freedom, because they have already been spotted by the seagulls flying up. Stop! Seagulls in the mountains? Perhaps climate change is coming faster than we thought …
