The Lady with the Unicorn” was created as a wedding magazine when Dali was finally allowed to marry his beloved Gala in church. The composition is inspired by medieval tapestries. Gala is in the pavilion under the inverted lettering “GALA MON SEUL DESIR” – Gala, my only desire. The artist himself is depicted as a unicorn with a long horn, a symbol of pure love.
