Humans and nature are Mohammad Al Helal’s themes. They are abstracted and reduced to their elementary biomorphic forms. In his more recent works in particular, he radically reduces the natural form to a minimum of dynamic, elegant basic elements. The rhinoceros is no longer recognizable as an animal, its horn protruding vertically from its elliptical head. Nature is the inspiration for his own sculptural forms – in the tradition of the great Hans Arp.
