In her work, Dior Thiam draws inspiration from historical events, literature and personal experiences. She raises questions about the different interpretations of seemingly objective knowledge around the world and about the differences in collective memory and its historical evaluation.

Through a process of overlaying, interweaving, fragmenting, collecting and reassembling, she extracts different pieces of research and findings and reorganises them to open up new levels of meaning.
