Cat.Rais. Descharnes: The Hard and the Soft, Sculptures & Objects, pg. 254 ref. 652

For Dali, angels were messengers of the unconscious guiding people through life. They represent divine consciousness, purity, light and protection. In this sculpture, Dali combines cubism and surrealism by giving cubist features to the face and trumpet.

Original bronze edition, conceived in 1976 and first cast in 1984, personally authorized by Dali.
